The Juvenile Investigations Division and its specially trained detectives have the responsibility of investigating all matters that concern the care, supervision, neglect, physical abuse and/or custody of juveniles.

This division is also charged with the investigation of any rape, molestation, incest, sexual battery, carnal knowledge or pornography involving juveniles and/or any sexually related crime involving children.

It is important to remember that juvenile crime and victimization of children present unique and sometimes difficult and stressful challenge for both the families involved and law enforcement.

The STPSO Juvenile Division attempts to minimize the stress and further victimization by working closely with the Office of Community Services, the Children’s Advocacy Center/Hope House, Families in Need of Services, other law enforcement and/or child protection agencies, as well as the District Attorney’s office.
